Dear Roosevelt High School Staff and Community Members,

As we eagerly anticipate the beginning of another enriching academic year, I would like to give you some important updates on changes designed to improve safety and manage traffic flow within our campus.

Effective Thursday, September 7, 2023, we will implement a revised entrance and exit protocol to enhance campus safety and streamline the traffic flow.

Entrance Protocol:

Starting September 7, everyone entering the Roosevelt High School campus should use Wagner Avenue as the designated entrance. This modification aims to reduce congestion at alternative access points and to make arrivals more efficient.

Exit Protocol:

Upon exiting the campus, staff and community members have two options:

  1. Denton Place: This exit will remain open throughout the school day.
  2. Meyers Avenue: This exit will be operational only during the start of the school day (7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.) and at dismissal (2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.).

We recognize that adapting to new procedures takes time, but we are confident these changes will yield a safer, more organized, and more efficient campus environment.

We'd like your full cooperation and support as we transition to this new protocol. Your role is vital in fostering a campus culture where the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and community members are top priorities.

Should you have questions or need further information, please get in touch with the Business Office at 516-345-7021. Our team can help you and ensure you can transition smoothly to these new procedures.

Thank you for your ongoing commitment to the success and security of Roosevelt High School. Your cooperation is crucial as we strive to make our campus a model of educational excellence and community engagement.

Wishing you all the best for a successful school year ahead,

Sincerely,

Mrs. Carleen Henry
Interim Principal
