Happy Veterans Day

To the Roosevelt community:

On behalf of the Board of Education, we salute our Veterans!

Veterans Day is a time for us to unite as a community to express our gratitude and respect for those who have served to safeguard our values and freedoms in this country. It is a day to remember that the rights and privileges we enjoy as citizens of this great nation have been protected, in large part, by the sacrifices of countless veterans. Throughout history, our veterans have shown extraordinary courage, resilience, and commitment to preserving the principles of democracy and freedom. They have enabled us to live in a country where education is valued, and we can freely express our opinions and work towards a brighter future for all.

As we reflect on the significance of Veterans Day, I encourage all of us to take a moment to extend our deepest thanks to the veterans in our lives, whether they be family members, friends, or neighbors. Their experiences and stories provide valuable life lessons and a deeper understanding of the importance of civic duty and community involvement in our society.

I also want to express my sincere appreciation to all Roosevelt School District educators and staff who work tirelessly to impart these essential lessons to our students. You play a crucial role in shaping the future trailblazers of our country and instilling in them a profound respect for those who serve the United States so selflessly.

I encourage all students and their families to take advantage of this time and participate in programs and other observances that honor our veterans' importance and contributions.

I want to extend my deepest gratitude to all the veterans within our District and their families for their service and sacrifices. We are forever indebted to you for your dedication and bravery. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers on Veterans Day and every day.

Roosevelt Rising,

Dr. Deborah L. Wortham
